Building a Brand Trusted by the Next Generation of A-List Talent.
1. The Strategic Challenge
The business management space relies heavily on legacy aesthetics and visual sameness. While TrueNorth’s clients were shaping culture, the category itself felt dated. With no existing assets in place, the challenge was to build a brand from zero that balanced authority, trust, and contemporary relevance without leaning on trends.
2. Leadership & Approach
I led the brand from strategy through execution, setting the creative direction and defining the system that everything would live within. My process combined market research, competitive analysis, word mapping, and extensive concept exploration to establish a clear point of view.
Early directions explored symbolic strength, but through strategic refinement the identity evolved toward a compass. The compass more clearly communicated guidance, clarity, and long-term vision. I simplified the form to ensure legibility and consistency across every scale, from digital platforms to environmental signage.
From there, I built a complete identity system including logo architecture, typography, color, patterns, and a comprehensive brand guide, while overseeing production and vendor execution.
3. Outcome & Impact
The final identity delivered a confident, differentiated presence in a crowded and outdated space. It positioned TrueNorth as modern, credible, and culturally aligned with the clients they represent. Stakeholders responded strongly, and the brand has become a foundational asset supporting growth, trust, and referrals.
